TYPE: Pan Pacific Defense Corps Research Report – Kaiju Science
SUBJECT: Kaiju “Mutavore” – Category IV
STATUS: Deceased
TRANSCRIPT:
Prepared by
Dr. Newton Geizler
Dr. Hermann Gottlieb
Mutavore exited the Breach on January 1, 2025, with an estimated mass of 2,630 tons. Visual surveillance suggested many blade-like appendages, which was confirmed when Mutavore made landfall in Sydney. Echo Saber, Vulcan Specter, and Striker Eureka responded, with pilots Aki Seto, Tidaka Maeda, Joshua Griffin, Tyler Zachery, Herc Hansen, and Chuck Hansen respectively.
Mutavore displayed extreme aggression, Displaying extreme aggression to infrastructure. Wanting to end the battle quickly, Echo Saber and Vulcan Spector tried to overpower the Kaiju. However, Mutavore proved to be tougher than thought and dispatched of the jaegers quickly. Striker Eureka responded and quickly dispatched of Mutavore.
Mutavore appeared to not take shape from any known earth animal, however its body did have a similar appearance to category II Kaiju “Hardship”. The crest shaped head seemed to be used as a blunt weapon, proving useful when the Kaiju broke the Anti-Kaiju Wall. Post mortem analysis indicated that Mutavore’s head crests were mostly made of bone only allowing space for its brain and mouth.
Kaiju Blue and other associated postmortem toxicity from Mutavore was minimal. Most organs were harvested from the kaiju and were donated to K-science researchers in Hong-Kong. Mutavore’s secondary brain was notably used in Dr. Newton Geizler’s first drift with a Kaiju brain. Other pieces were used by Dr. Newton Geizler to prove his hypothesis that Kaiju’s were clones.
Notes:
Mutavore’s attack showed the ineffectiveness of the Anti-Kaiju wall. Politicians however continued to support the construction of the Anti-Kaiju wall, leading to mass riots all around the Pacific rim.
I would like to say that yes, most of this is Fanon, yesI did use Aki Seto from the draft script of Pacific Rim, yes Tikda Maeda is made up I just want to a name generator, and yes I did put Vulcan Spector and echo saber in the battle.

The key component of this theory was the dialogue between Mei and the High Priestess. Not only did she know Mei by name, she mentioned events in her past, which fall in line with the Sisters' MO. Either Mei had made a name for herself in the Black and had numerous run-ins with the Sisters, or...
Mei was a member of the Sisters of the Kaiju.
Further evidence in season 2 supports this: her attitude towards the sisters throughout is one of fear and disgust, outside of her normally stoic or sarcastic attitude. Furthermore, when rescuing Boy from the Sisters' lair, she freezes in fear, the only time in the series she does so. Furthermore, she also mentions that she knew people who were converted into Sisters. This is a stretch, but she also could have recognized them while under the Sisters' control.
Finally, it fits within her established backstory. Since her memory is full of false memories implanted by Shane, it makes sense that any true memory would be corrupted from years of the High Priestess' control. Shane also knew of the nastiness of a Sister's mind, which implies he had drifted with them before. It would not be outrageous to say that he had drifted with Mei before, in order to free her from the Sisters control. The chronology of this is spotty, since Mei being kidnapped at a young age would place her under Shane's control way before the Fall (Operation Blackout), so it's possible she was associated with Shane before being captured. Shane's false memories could have been a way of repairing (or controlling) her mind.
This theory could be entirely false, but I know the dialogue in the finale can't be coincidence. Worth discussion and would love to hear your opinions.
Since Pacific Rim: The Black s2 released, it made me finally remember that I was supposed to post the pictures of my updated Jaeger. It's been over a month since I said I was going to do so, and I've been so bogged down by schoolwork and sports that I haven't had much time to remember. So, without further adieu, here's my custom Jaeger, Raider Midnight.
Midnight stands at 9 & 3/4s inches tall, and although he isn't proportionally sized he still towers over a Lego minifigure.
I really wanted to try to be as close as I could get to the Jaegers on screen, and so I added a way for two pilots to be carried at once. Since the scale is a lot smaller, they're in the wrong spot, but there's the signature two nonetheless. Removing the chest area will allow you to access the pilots, who simply stand under the green lights.
Midnight is equipped with heavy armor in order to withstand even the strongest of Kaiju blows, and can best even a Category V one-on-one. For situations where hand-to-hand combat will not suffice, it is equipped with a rear-mounted mortar. The main nuclear turbine powers both the Jaeger and the floodlights mounted on its shoulders, and the two fuel tanks provide short bursts of propulsion should a quick intercept be required.
Raider Midnight is a Mark 3 Jaeger, being powered by the nuclear reactor placed in the middle of its chest. He possesses incredible levels of brute force, having managed to lift Kaiju and throw them short distances. This has also allowed for easier rescue, as Midnight has been dispatched to help clear large debris from cities.
Midnight's main weapons are the twin spikes on each arm, which have been fashioned after Kaiju teeth. These are coated with napalm, and can be ignited using flamethrowers mounted on each wrist. A previous tactic used by Midnight's pilots was to impale the spikes through the roof of a Kaiju's mouth, subsequently activating the flamethrowers to obliterate the enemy's head.
While watching I kinda had a feeling that Apex would die but when he actually did I don't know but part of me doubts that he is dead since if he was his body would have slumped over and fallen limp to the ground not staying in a position like a statue, while a small part of me actually believes that he is dead. Maybe if they do a season 3 they'll reveal that Apex is still alive and was just powered down.
Was that the final season of pacific rim hte black
As a fan of the original film, seeing the franchise go the route it has has been somewhat disappointing. Despite this, I was excited for the anime, anticipating what new concepts it would introduce. Even as a standalone, I would find it enjoyable.
Now that the show is finished, I feel ambiguously towards it - I had many problems and was let down, while other parts I applauded. Overall, there were things that I thought the show could have done differently or better.
In the weeks/months following, I shall craft a review on the show in it's entirety - just to share my opinion on this show and to process how I feel.
And I'll review it by itself - I won't compare it to the movie or Uprising, or from the perspective of a fan of the original.
