<p>Let's not forget that the listed masses are notoriously unreliable. We also don't know for certain that Trespasser was more durable than any of the other early Kaiju, because we don't know the yields of the weapons used to defeat each one. </p><p>If, however, we do assume that Trespasser was tougher, it is entirely reasonable to accept Glitch's explanation that since he was the first, he would be designed to be durable so as to provide maximum intelligence to the Precursors. </p>

Small thing to nitpick but the Zilla on the size comparison is actually from Godzilla:Final Wars and not the 1998 Zilla since he would've been smaller but that's it.

I agree with Glitch but I thought no one would believe me.

That sounds highly speculative to me. How would sending something through the breach "use up excess energy"? Why is there "excess energy" in the first place? And the portal was <i>already</i> unstable. </p>

Maybe Tress was designed to soak up energy by biotechnowankmagic to solve that problem, so those three nukes killed him so dead because they overloaded his energy absorption and he burned out. </p><p>And the excess energy might have been due to miscalculating how much energy was needed when working with huge numbers of joules, or the Precursor equivalent to joules, because the amount of energy needed to rip a hole between dimensions (or even between points in space within the same dimension) is gonna be MASSIVE. </p>

<p>its stated that too much energy would collappse the portal, right? so maybe unless they did their best to lower the starting energy with a Tresspasser, it'd collapse on them and fail their invasion right from the getgo </p>

Maybe they considered the possibility of their Kaiju failing due to earth's defenses being too much.

There is nothing to indicate that there even was any "excess energy", let alone that sending a Kaiju through would somehow absorb said energy.

<p>Almost certainly portal restrictions. Note that althought kaiju gradually became bigger, it was *not* said to be directly linear. </p><p>
</p><p>More than likely, the first time they opened the portal they were able to do it relatively wide, but afterwards it's instability limited to smaller for awhile- but each opening, sometimes it'd be a little bigger than the last, sometimes the same size, sometimes even a little smaller, only the general trend was upwards. </p>
