Bunyip Man was a settler in Never Never Valley.
Biography[]
The man known as Bunyip Man lived among the settlers in Bogan, until his obsession with Kaiju led to him being kicked out, and moved to Never Never Valley. Sometime after, he "adopted" a Trespasser, which he named "Lucy". During this time, Lucy consumed his left forearm while he was attempting to feed her. Over time, he managed to "tame" Lucy and multiple Kaiju in Never Never Valley by providing food, namely Rippers. He also studied Kaiju biology, and was able to develop an antivenom for Kaiju Tick bites.
Upon seeing a Jaeger fall into the Valley and kill an Acidquill, he fed the Valley's Kaiju in order to distract them from the Jaeger so it could find refuge. He provides aid to the pilots, in particular finding his antivenom for use on a mysterious Human Kaiju hybrid. Before administering the antivenom, he went to feed the Kaiju once again, only to find that his stock of Rippers had been slain by the Sisters of the Kaiju, In a panic, he tried to calm a hungry Lucy, fully believing he had her under control but in the end she consumed him.
Trivia[]
Bunyip Man's belief that he had tamed the Kaiju when in reality he was only feeding them, in addition to his detection of their "negative energy" suggest that he was either adept at reading their moods or delusional.
