Chronos Berserker is a Mark-5 Australian Jaeger stationed at Moyulan Shatterdome.

History[]

Chronos Berserker was constructed after the Kaiju War, and participated in law-enforcement and rebuilding efforts. The Jaeger is also used to examine graduating Cadets.

Berserker's Nightmare[]

Chronos Berserker was launched to examine graduating cadets, Braga and Vu, as they were running the examination, Braga shouted in fear and Vu followed shortly after. As Xiang reported to Nate Lambert about losing the feed from Chronos, as all heads turned towards Chronos, it suddenly lurched forward and threw two consecutive punches in the air. Chronos then turned, running four steps, and crashed into a wall. As Xiang attempted to activate the fail-safe system, it was overridden by unknown. Chronos raised up its right arm, following with the ports in it opening with a flash and the roar like a jet taking off, the missile had been fired from Berserker's right arm. The Hammerhead missile slammed into the bay wall, about halfway up, narrowly missing Gipsy Avenger as wreckage expand and fall, fortunately, the missiles had their payload removed. Chronos threw another punch at Valor Omega visibly damaging Valor's shoulder.

During the nightmare, Lambert asked about the Pons Intercessor in which Xiang shook her head and told Lambert it was intact. Nate told Xiang to put him inside the drift. When he entered, it seemed as if it was a maelstrom. Braga and Vu were utterly panicked, nourishing each others feedback loop that was already strong. Lambert now saw what the two were seeing. It was a Kaiju, a monster so gargantuan and so close Lambert could make only make out some parts. A Gila monster and a ground sloth as three huge black claws, ripping through the right conn-pod. Berserker was swiped at by the Drift Kaiju's black claws and Chronos had retaliated with a double high block, then brought both fists back down on the monster's head. It staggered a bit, but shook it off, and then its muzzle filled the screen as its jagged teeth closed on the Conn-Pod and started worrying it like a dog with a bone. Chronos responded with an uppercut and began warming up the other missile, stepping back to give her room to fire. Lambert without much time, had to pick the most stabilized pilot, which was Vu. As Lambert attempt to snap Vu back from chasing the RABIT, Chronos was lifted by the Drift Kaiju into the air, Lambert had saw a sea below, sheeted with ice and land in the near distance, mountains covered in snow.

Chronos was slammed into the water as the Drift Kaiju drew them into the depth, as Braga screamed and trashed. Lambert manages to break Vu from the drift, as Lambert and Vu broke contact, the neural handshake will not hold, meaning the illusion of the Kaiju will end. Chronos was out in the bay and hit a wall again took three steps back and ceased movements. As the emergency crew descended from the ceiling and opened the Conn-pod, Vu was unconcious while Braga had died.

Features[]

Chronos Berserker is armed with two Hammerhead missiles, one in each arm. Hammerheads contain the most powerful non-atomic warheads available, located in each of their arm. The missiles can be fired for training purposes, but must have their payloads removed in advance.

Chronos Berserker's conn-pod is equipped with a Pons Intercessor which is a seperate system designed to allow an outsider to enter the drift with those inside of Berserker's conn-pod. It was a safety precaution in a scenario where if a pilot were to pass out for some reason, a third party could enter the Drift to help stabilize the situation.
