Inconsistencies

The following is a list of known discrepancies connected to Coyote Tango within the Pacific Rim film and external canon.

Known Inconsistencies[]

  • According Coyote Tango's blueprints, Coyote Tango could be piloted by a single Ranger without risk of seizure from the neural load.
  • According to Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters, Travis Beacham[1] and the novelization, Coyote Tango's status is "K.I.A." (destroyed during the course of the war). However, the artbook subsequently contradicts its status in its biographical description, which states it was merely retired because of the dangers of the nuclear reactor.[2]
  • According to Man, Machines & Monsters and the stats card, Coyote Tango weighs 2,312 tons. However, the blueprints states Coyote Tango's weight is 7,450 tons.
  • According to the novelization Coyote Tango was taken out of commission for a year to repair damages and reinforce its radiation shielding. However, Tales From The Drift sees Coyote Tango deployed against another Kaiju (Itak) almost four weeks after its fight against Onibaba.
  • Tacit Ronin is said to be the first Japanese Mark-1 Jaeger to be built and the second to last Mark-1 Jaeger built by the Pan Pacific Defence Corps. If this is true, this makes Coyote Tango the last Mark-1 Jaeger built by the Corps.
