Dengue is the name of an unused Kaiju concept from the Pacific Rim draft script.[1]
Biology[]
According to the script, Dengue is a large arachnid-type Kaiju that stands "thirty stories tall", and resembles a tarantula and a dragon. It has numerous eyes above a wide mouth that resembles a reptile's. Some unholy fusion of tarantula and dragon. Despite its purported and weight and height, it can move across land "unexpectedly fast".[1]
Development[]
In the script, Dengue is the first Kaiju attack demonstrated in the narrative not in a flashback or a simulated environment. The Kaiju attacks the city of Lima, Peru, and engages the Mark-2 Jaeger, Puma Real. Its skull is cracked by a punch from Puma Real and obliterated from the Jaeger's canon weapon.[1]
