Safe Zone Report (Raleigh's Room)

L. Taylor speaks to the public about the Mutavore Incident.

"Safe zones? For the rich and powerful? What about the rest of us?"
TV Reporter[1]

Safe Zones were designated safe havens or sanctuaries meant to protect the populace from the Kaiju.

History[]

Following the United Nations' decision to abandon the Jaeger Program for the Anti-Kaiju Wall, world leaders established new safe havens further inland and away from the coastal cities of the Pacific Rim.[1]

When the failure of the Anti-Kaiju Wall was finally revealed during Mutavore's attack on Sydney, L. Taylor, an American UN representive, attempt to quell the panicking and rioting public. Despite the fact that the wall was clearly useless against the Kaiju, he maintained faith in the wall's efficiency and reported that millions of civilians and supplies were being moved to the safe zones and away from the coastlines.[1]

When a reporter insinuated that the safe zones were only being used to save the "rich and powerful" and demanded to know what would happen to everybody else, Taylor evaded the question and continued to insist that the Anti-Kaiju Wall was still their best defense against the Kaiju.[1]
