Hercules "Herc" Hansen is the father of Chuck Hansen and the brother of Scott Hansen. He was a Ranger in the Pan Pacific Defense Corps and one of the pilots of Striker Eureka before its destruction in 2025. In the aftermath of Stacker Pentecost's death, he is promoted to the rank of Marshal.

Early Life[]
Herc and his younger brother Scott are born in Sydney, Australia to parents Donovan and Tess Hansen.[2] Prior to the events that trigger the Kaiju War, Herc was a Royal Australian Air Force pilot. At some point, he marries a woman named Angela, who later gives birth to their son Chuck on August 14, 2003.[3]
Scissure Attack[]
On August 10, 2013, the Kaiju Trespasser attacks San Francisco, marking the beginning of the Kaiju War. A year later, on September 2, 2014, Sydney is attacked by the Kaiju Scissure. The military warns the populace in the downtown district that they have one hour to evacuate and due to being on duty at the time, Herc is forced to use a Bell Kiowa to enter the city.[2]
With only enough time to reach one person, Herc heads to Chuck's school and the two of them are able to escape from the city before the second nuclear strike occurs. Afterward, his friend Stacker Pentecost tells him the Kaiju killed his wife. However, Herc remains uncertain about her fate.[2]
Pan Pacific Defense Corps[]
On December 16, 2019, Herc is deployed in Manilla alongside Gipsy Danger and Horizon Brave to intercept and kill a Category IV Kaiju before it can attack the city.[4][5] When Shen and Po, the pilots of Horizon Brave, are overpowered by the Kaiju's barbed-tail, Herc and Gipsy Danger are able to save their teammates and successfully kill the Kaiju shortly after.[6][7]
Herc's career with Striker Eureka partners him up with Wei Tang Cheung, Hu, and Jin, and the Kaidonovskys Sasha and Aleksis, to defend Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2020, and again in 2024 against a Kaiju in the Bohai Sea.[6]
Herc's first mission alongside his son Chuck in Striker Eureka occurs on October 9, 2021 when they are deployed in Hawaii against the Kaiju Ceramander. They are joined by the Gunnar and Vic Tunari, now the pilots of the Mark-1 Jaeger, Coyote Tango.
The defeat of Ceramander began Herc and Chuck's record of victories against the Kaiju. In 2024, Herc and Chuck are sent to combat the likes of six Kaiju in Los Angeles, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, and Mexico.[6]
