The incinerator turbines are the ranged weapons of the Russian Mark 1 Jaeger, Cherno Alpha. They are depicted in offical blueprints and media as similar to a flamethrower type weapon.
Appearances in Pacific Rim the Video Game and Jaeger Combat Simulator[]

Cherno Alpha's incinerator turbines as seen in Pacific Rim the video game.
In the video games, such as: Pacific Rim: The Video Game, Pacific Rim: The Mobile game and the web-based game, Jaeger Combat Simulator, show that these two shoulder mounted weapons fire to a medium/ grappling distance. However the fatal assault move "infernowave" in Pacific Rim: The Video Game, demonstrates that the incinerator turbines have a super long range, similar to that of Gipsy Danger's plasma caster.
Books[]
In the book by Cohen and Del Toro, Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters: The Inner Workings of an Epic Film, the incinerator turbines are listed as one of Cherno's weapons alongside the Z-14 Tesla Fists.
Cherno's nuclear reactor contains energy reserves and incendiary fuel which is assumed to be the fuel for these weapons.
In chapter 36 of Pacific Rim Uprising: Ascension, Cherno Alpha discharges its Incinerator Turbine against the kaiju Raythe. They are described as "two fluids" that "surged from hidden reservoirs, mixed, and became something like napalm, or what napalm might dream of being, a clinging gel that burned hotter than jet fuel." Raythe is not seriously harmed by the Incinerator Turbines, and as it struggles against the Jaeger, some of the gel falls on Cherno Alpha, also failing to inflict lasting damage.
Novelisation vs Film[]

Incinerator Turbines being activated.
Although they are not visibly used in the film against either Otachi or Leatherback, in Pacific Rim: The Official Movie Novelization, it is stated that "[t]he Kaidanovskys discharged the Incinerator Turbines directly into Otachi's face, searing away the kaiju's flesh and driving it back". It was additionally stated that "... Leatherback and Otachi were tag-teaming Cherno Alpha. The Russian Jaeger's Incinerator Turbines had gone dark".[1]
In the film, after Cherno was about to swipe down with both fists on Otachi, she swipes her tail at the Jaeger's reactor; the incinerator turbines are seen to be visibly shaking as the mech crashes onto the harbour's floor. Shortly after, on one of Striker Eureka's screens in the conn-pod, the turbines are coloured red with "damage" written adjacent to them; thus, suggesting that they were now possibly unusable.
Toys and Games[]
In Neca's Heroclix line, two of Cherno Alpha's moves are related to the incinerator turbines. These are "Incinerator Turbines" and "Infernowave". In the card game, Shuffling the Deck, as part of the description of either Aleksis' or Sasha's card, it states that the Jaeger has "fire shooting turrets".
Trivia[]
- In the scene of Cherno's conn-pod, after the Jaeger has used a double right hook with its Z-14 Tesla Fists, on the side of Aleksis, a display is visible depicting a lime green of Cherno's left side with an Incinerator Turbine being highlighted into a more vibrant green. Adjacent, are two circles resembling the Turbines - it is suggested that this is where they are activated for use.
- Cherno's Incinerator Turbines, for an unknown reason, change colour throughout the Hong Kong battle. After illuminating initially, they are yellow but switch to a deep orange later on.
