Mary Parent is an executive producer and production manager. She served as one of the executive producers for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, and Steven S. DeKnight's Pacific Rim Uprising.
Biography[]
Mary Parent is the co-president of production at Universal Pictures with Scott Stuber, with whom she ranked #58 on Premiere Magazine's annual Power List 100. In December of the same year, both she and Struber were appointed to the position of Vice Chairman, Worldwide Production, for Universal Pictures. In their newest position Parent and Struber oversaw acquisition, creative development and production of all Universal Pictures feature films. In addition, they also oversaw Universal's original made-for-video productions.[1]
She co-founded "Struber/Parent Productions" with Struber in 2006. In 2008, Parent was named Chairperson of MGM's Worldwide Production Picture Group and placed 28th on The Wall Street Journal's "50 Women to Watch 2008" list. In 2010, Parent left MGM Studios and in 2011 started the company Disruption Entertainment with ex-New Line Cinema Executives, Cale Boyter and Luke Ryan. They later signed a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures.[1]
