"Mech Czar" is the alias of a Black market dealer working the Santa Monica, California area.[1]

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Mech Czar is a Ukrainian[2] crime boss with a longstanding rivalry with Santa Monica-based crime boss, Giovanni Capello.[1] At some point, she lost a limb and had it replaced with a bulky, cybernetic limb. She bears scars on her face resembling the pattern of a computer chip.[3]

Czar holds considerable power within the Black Market. In the aftermath of the war, Czar oversees the development of an prototype Jaeger named Enforcer, using what remained of the original Jaegers produced by the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.[1]

Aftermath[]

March 3, 2034[]

Mech hires former Jaeger pilot Joshua Griffin to work for her. On her order, Griffin and four other individuals are sent to a sealed scrapyard in Santa Monica to salvage Jaeger parts.[1] During their attempt to take salvage from the scrapyard, they are ambushed by men under the order of Giovanni Capello.

Griffin is able to obtain a synaptic capacitor from the Conn-Pod of Vulcan Specter and returns to Mech Czar's Headquarters in Los Angeles.[3]

Czar arrives to the garage area, stepping into the middle of a fight between Pena and Griffin, demanding that they give the synaptic capacitor to Chris Dubango. She interrupts Chris' rambling about the problems the capacitor will solve with their Jaegger Enforcer, and orders Griffin and Pena to tell her about the Giovanni's men at the scrapyard.

Griffin explains to Czar that Giovanni's men were armed with Marrow Bombs, explosives powered by fossil fuels. His explanation is cut short when the perimeter alarm around her headquarter is set off. Czar asks for a situation report, when an explosion tears a hole through the building.

Realizing they've been ambushed, Czar orders everyone to make for the workshop and lays down suppressing fire on Giovanni's men. Chris tries to get everyone in the panic room, but Czar tells him to use the synaptic capacitor instead. When Griffin uses the capacitor to power Enforcer, he struggles to suppress Giovanni's men. Pena asks that Czar give him the chance to pilot Enforcer instead.[2]
