The following is a list of known discrepancies connected to Mega-Kaiju within the Pacific Rim Uprising film and external canon.
Known Inconsistencies[]
- According to the Chinese stat card for the Mega-Kaiju, the Mega-Kaiju is classified as a "Gestalt" Kaiju and weighs 7864 tons.[1] However, a magazine in Japan classifies it as "Category 6" and weighs 15,640 tons.[2][note 1]
- Steven S. DeKnight states that the Mega-Kaiju is a "Category 13" Kaiju.[3], which is a number he likely arrived at by adding the categories of the Mega-Kaiju's three component Kaiju together. The Serizawa Scale[note 2] used in the original Pacific Rim did not go above five categories. The aforementioned Japanese promotional poster says it is Category 6. In Pacific Rim Uprising - The Official Movie Novelization, the Mega-Kaiju is stated to be Category 5.
- The Mega-Kaiju's official length is 101.88 meters, and its official height is 128.01 meters. However, this is physically impossible given its appearance; being hexapedal, it cannot be shorter than it is tall.
- Its teeth are officially listed as around 20 feet or 6.1 meters long. However, this would make its teeth disproportionately huge, and would be roughly the same length as its claws. This number is likely to be intended for its chin spikes rather than its actual teeth.
