Meridian City is a city located in an unknown location within Australia, and the location of one major Kaiju attack by an unknown Kaiju moments prior to Operation Blackout.[1]
History[]
Pre-Operation Blackout[]
Approximately three years prior to the activation of Operation Blackout, Taylor Travis attended a PPDC Recruitment Center within the city.[1]
Operation Blackout[]
Meridian City was evacuated as Kaiju had overrun the continent of Australia. Evacuation procedures were halted by an unknown Kaiju. During this time, young Taylor and Hayley Travis were trapped on a bus that was being evacuated from the city. Ford and Brina Travis returned in their Jaeger, Hunter Vertigo, along with Marauder Zeus. Hunter Vertigo saves Taylor and Hayley, and defeats the unknown Kaiju using it's Cryo Cannon. Whilst saving the bus full of evacuees, Marauder Zeus kills a Category III Kaiju, Acidquill using its Rotary Machine Gun. This Jaeger is then surprise attacked by another Acidquill, and has its Conn-Pod crushed by the mouth of the Kaiju. Marauder Zeus takes down the Kaiju as its final action. Hunter Vertigo takes the bus of evacuees and flees the city.[2]
Post-Operation Blackout[]
Approximately 5 years after the events of the previous battle, Taylor and Hayley Travis return to the city in the Jaeger, Atlas Destroyer, as it runs out of power. Leaving their Jaeger on the city limits, Taylor and Hayley travel into the city to find the PPDC Recruitment Center. Before locating the Center, Taylor and Hayley are attacked by two Rippers, but are inadvertently saved by Apex. They both flee the Jaeger-Kaiju hybrid and jump into the river. The two of them quickly find the PPDC Recruitment Center, and enter to sub-level 4. They both find the Kaiju Boy, but attract more Rippers to the Center. They flee the area, as Hayley attempts to attract Apex to save them and kill the Rippers. Hayley's plan works, and the three of them flee back to the abandoned Jaeger on the outskirts of the city.[1] Shortly after, Taylor spots a vehicle convoy from Bogan. The three leave the city and follow the convoy out of the city.[4]
