Oh, and do you mind to delete this thread for me? When looking back at the said thread as I sent this message, I realized how embarrassing it was, given now I understood not all things in this wikia worked similarly with that of others. For instance, many articles in Pacific Rim Wiki deliberately split into novelization version, one that focused on the first movie, and Uprising movie version.
I am a new user to Pacific Rim wiki but I know a lot about pacific rim and I noticed that the page on jaegers doesn't include the jaegers and the story introduced in Pacific Rim: Uprising so i edited it yesterday and today its all gone for some reason. like i said, im a new user and i dont know much about the editing proccess, but can someone tell me why this is happening?
Lily Ford, about Pacific Rim: Uprising, does that film really the sequel for 2013 film Pacific Rim (film) or stand-alone movie set in continuity that separate to 2013 film? I asked this due to pages in this wikia somewhat split between info from 2013 film and Uprising version in addition of some inconsistencies:
Yes, basically. I have an updated version of the timeline on my desktop that I've been double-checking before posting. But with regard to the Anti-Kaiju Wall, none of the Uprising external content provides a date on its creation, so it won't be mentioned in the timeline, and the novelization reference to the AKW in the PacRim timeline has also been removed.
For a moment, I thought Pacific Rim: Uprising and Pacific Rim (film) set not in same continuity because of that in spite of both are canon in terms of continuity. Pacific Rim: Uprising simply has few continuity nod to previous film, fewer than I expected to be which led to this confusion in the first place.
B. When Newton Geiszler fell under Precursors' hivemind influence through repeated drifting with Kaiju brain he named Alice as revealed in Pacific Rim: Uprising, did the Precursors who swayed him to their cause really give Newton necessary knowledge to carry out their plans (ways to clone Kaiju DNA to recreate Kaiju organs and recreating Breach)? I felt Precursors giving him such knowledge as they controlled that poor guy being a plausible explanation given that humanity's knowledge both about Kaiju biology and breach itself somewhat limited compared to Precursors themselves.
B): That's definitely what the film wanted audiences to take away from Newton's actions. Even with all Newton knew about the Kaiju, both from his studies and from Drifting with Mutavore's brain (in the first film), he wouldn't have the knowledge required to do half of the things he did in Uprising unless someone was feeding him that information constantly or controlling him.
A): Honestly? No. The only thing Uprising-Kaiju can do that the first film’s Kaiju couldn’t is fuse together (but I felt like that was a wasted opportunity in the film because of time constraints and introducing the Kaiju at the climax instead of earlier). The Mega-Kaiju ended up looking like a relatively weak monster despite it taking almost all of the Jaegers except Gipsy Avenger. I honestly think the Kaiju in this film are fairly equal in strength to Leatherback and Otachi.
A): Now that you mentioned it. I really believed Precursors made actual improvements on the Kaijus given to how they can fuse together (it's turned out possible through collaboration between them and Newt), but taking into account about collateral damage they suffered at hands of Raleigh and Mako who blow up both original breach and their Kaiju factory with self-destructing Gipsy Danger, the chance of them creating Kaijus that ouright surpassing Leatherback and Otachi is more likely slim to none. They need time to recover and plan another invasion from damage the two caused on their facility. Not to mention designing Kaijus with powerful quirks like Raijin, Leatherback, and Otachi likely more challenging designing ones like Knifehead or Scunner. Not sure whether my statement above being accurate or anything, but in either way, without fusing together, Uprising-Kaijus still on par with Leatherback and Otachi like you said.
B): While you have a point about how Newton doing all the stuff he did in Uprising movie, it made me curious. Judging from his and Jake's conversation in the end of Uprising where Jake made it clear that PPDC would bring the war to Precursors' home universe, does it means Pan Pacific Defense Corps now figured out how to create breaches thanks to his actions? I just wondering whether it's true.
I have no idea. I think the long and short of that scene was just sequel bait.
I'm not sure the screenwriters actually have an answer to that question, unless they're depending on the audience to come to the conclusion of "oh, well, they'll just use the drones" (which is the only solution I'm seeing atm).
The company that owns Legendary has already been pretty clear that they're not interested in pursuing a third PacRim movie (right now), and we're getting animated series that's not following the plot of Uprising at all.
For now I think they're avoiding that issue altogether.
One more continuity confusion between the first film and the second one, the Timeline (Uprising) page does not mention Knifehead's attack and battle with Gipsy Danger, and it says there that the downturn of the Kaiju War is 2021, not 2020 as shown in the first film. Also it may be an oversight, but according to the same timeline page, Bracer Phoenix was built after Mutavore's attack in Sydney that was shown in the first film, while around that time the government stopped supporting the Jaeger program over to the Anti-Kaiju Wall, so how it could be built in the first place on that timeframe? Also during the Shatterdome scene in Hong Kong, while introducing Striker, it is mentioned that it was the "first and last of the Mark-5's".
I previously had an image of Atticon from Breach Wars appearing on its page, I can understand why this was removed, considering it may not be canon. Breach Wars' designation of Categories for Kaiju in the game are canon, and Atticon's listed as a Category III Kaiju. I saw that Atticon's Category I had up on its page was also taken down, and was removed when I put it up yesterday as well. Why is that? This is true information.
ValorOmega has been complaining about you in Forums. Can you please help Community Central out and get rid of this prick and give him some closure? This man is in Denial and is asking to get unblocked.
Truthfully, I don't know what more I can do or say to that User. They're clearly doing it for the attention, nothing about their "tone" of text suggests that they're remotely serious about their position, they just want someone to pay attention to them.
I've asked the Wiki Staff to ban him from this Wiki as ValorOmega, but he keeps coming back with alternate accounts. His most recent one was blocked after editing the Guardian Bravo article.
I'm not even positive that his repeated harassment across multiple wiki's will actually motivate the Staff to globally block him from the entire Wiki website period.
