Tendo Choi cradles his dying grandfather as Trespasser is killed with a nuclear missile.
Nuclear weapons delivery is the technology and systems used to place a nuclear weapon at the position of detonation, on or near its target. Several methods have been developed to carry out this task. At the beginning of the Kaiju War, governments across the Pacific Rim resorted to tactical nuclear weaponry to kill the hostile alien species known as the Kaiju. Growing concerns regarding nuclear fallout forced humanity to consider unorthodox methods to fight the Kaiju. At the end of the war, a thermonuclear bomb was used in an attempt to destroy the Breach.

Assault on the Breach[]
January 12, 2025, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps used its surviving Jaegers, Striker Eureka and Gipsy Danger in attempt to destroy the Breach using a thermonuclear bomb acquired by Russian pilots Sasha and Aleksis Kaidonovsky.[1]
