Plot Summary[]
Aftermath (Part One)[]
Former Jaeger Pilot Joshua Griffin wallows in self-pity as he recounts his celebrity as the pilot Vulcan Specter alongside co-pilot Tyler Zachery. Bitter that he has been forgotten, Griffin goes to work for a black market dealer named Mech Czar, a woman in search of Jaeger parts from decommissioned Jaegers.
Together with several others working for Mech Czar, Griffin enters the Santa Monica Scrapyard to obtain a plasma capacitor, and discovers the remains of Vulcan Specter. Griffin's team comes under an unexpected attack when they're ambushed by Giovanni Capello, a crime boss in Santa Monica also interested in the acquisition of Jaeger parts.
Hannibal Chau (Part One)[]
A scarred and morose Hannibal Chau returns to his hometown in Los Angeles and attempts to rebuild his name from the ground up. He observes the arrogant Jaeger pilot, Joshua Griffin, get into a fight with a dealer in a noodle restaurant before he is kicked out of the establishment for disturbing the peace. Hannibal follows the dealer through Chinatown and attacks him for dealing on his turf.
I am Pentecost (Part One)[]
Jake Pentecost is informed by Sonny, a fellow black market dealer, that Giovanni Capello has left Santa Monica to attend to business "elsewhere". Jake uses the crime boss' absence to break into his mansion to gain access to Giovanni's collection of "Jaeger artifacts" taken from the PPDC in the hopes of using the Drift Core from Striker Eureka to glimpse the final moments of his father, Stacker Pentecost.
