The Port of Hong Kong (or Hong Kong Port) is a deepwater seaport located on the coastline of Hong Kong that is dominated by trade in containerized manufactured products and raw materials.[2] It was the target of seven Kaiju attacks over the course of the Kaiju War and the first recorded Double Event in 2025.[1]
History[]
Located by the South China Sea, the port is a key factor in the economic development of Hong Kong, as the natural shelter and deep waters of Victoria Harbour provide ideal conditions for the berthing and handling of all types of shipping vessels.[2]
As noted by Herc Hansen, due to the fact that the Hong Kong Port is an open one, the local government does not enforce a rationing policy. As a result, its residents are able to buy and consume both significantly larger amounts and wider varieties of food than what is normally allowed in most major cities across the world.[1]
Pre-2025[]
Presumably, between the years of 2019 and 2024, the Port of Hong Kong was hit with seven recorded Kaiju attacks. However, Crimson Typhoon, piloted by the Wei Tang Brothers Cheung, Jin and Hu, was able to successfully intercept and kill all seven Kaiju in combat.[1]
Hong Kong Incident[]
Shortly after Otachi and Leatherback were able to destroy both Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha, and disable Striker Eureka, Gipsy Danger was deployed as a last resort against the two Kaiju. By the time Gipsy Danger arrived at Victoria Harbour, Leatherback was the only Kaiju present; Otachi had already left to go find and kill Newton Geiszler inside the city.
Gipsy Danger wasted no time in engaging Leatherback and was able to tear off its EMP organ, prompting the Kaiju to tackle the Jaeger and throw it across the harbour and into the port. After a long fight that completely trashed the port, Gipsy Danger was finally able to kill Leatherback using its right-arm plasma cannon.[1]
