Romeo Blue is a Mark-1 American Jaeger. It is the second Mark-1 launched in the United States after Brawler Yukon.[2]

History[]

A first generation Jaeger, Romeo Blue gained major notoriety in the United States following its victory against the the Kaiju Hardship. It's successes against the Kaiju are considerable enough that its pilots, the Gage twins, become celebrities as a result.[6]

Destruction[]

During the later years of the Kaiju Wars, Romeo Blue is destroyed in a battle with a Kaiju in Seattle.[6] Despite its reputation in war, Romeo Blue's remains are taken to the PPDC Scrapyard in Santa Monica alongside Vulcan Specter.[7] The Santa Monica scrapyard is considered the dumping grounds for less notable Jaegers.

Aftermath[]

Some time before 2030, Romeo Blue's Conn-Pod is removed from its body and retrofitted into an illegal Jaeger racing vehicle called Headhunter. It's pilot, Riya Khatri participates an in illegal race monitored by the black market dealer, Mech Czar, and is disqualified early on after the fin of Romeo Blue's head prevents her from passing under a bridge.[8]

In 2035, parts of Romeo Blue's Conn-Pod are salvaged by Jake Pentecost and Amara Namani, both of whom are searching for the Conn-Pod's plasma capacitors. Amara is able to obtain the parts before Jake can steal them to repay his debt to a local black market dealer, and uses it to complete repairs for her Rogue Jaeger, Scrapper.[9]

Known inconsistencies[]

  • According to the prequel comic, Pacific Rim: Amara, Romeo Blue's Conn-Pod (its head) is taken from the PPDC's scrapyard. However, in Pacific Rim Uprising, Romeo Blue's head remains attached to its body.
