Roscoe Calhoun is the name of a scrapped character from the Pacific Rim draft script.[1]

Development[]

Overview[]

Roscoe Calhoun is a minor character in the original script of Pacific Rim. In his introduction, Roscoe is described as "a uniformed military officer" who smokes cigarettes. Roscoe only appears once in the story during the set up of the plot.[1] Roscoe is one of two military characters who appeared in the script that were discarded in favor of making Stacker Pentecost the leading military figure in the rewrites of the script.

Role[]

Roscoe Calhoun is Lieutenant-Commander in the Combined Special Defense Corps. and a former associate of Raleigh Antrobus. Roscoe visits Raleigh and tries to convince him to return to the COSDEC in light of the death of Aki Seto and the destruction of Acid Geisha. Raleigh is skeptical of COSDEC's intentions to pair together “burn-out leftovers” to create a new Jaeger crew. Roscoe admits that COSDEC doesn't know what to expect from an untested team, but continues to press him all the same. Raleigh accepts Roscoe's offer and travels with him to Tokyo, Japan.[1]
