Shaolin Rogue is a Mark-3 Chinese Jaeger.
History
China Sea Incident
On September 7, 2022[2], Shaolin Rogue is deployed to the China Sea to intercept the Kaiju Tentalus, proving its effectiveness by spending most of the fight completely submerged.[7]
Some time after the fight, the couple who piloted Shaolin Rogue is murdered in their apartment. The culprits were never found, but most people believe that Kaiju Cultists were responsible.[5]
The Metamorphosis in Shanghai
On January 2, 2024[2], the Category III Kaiju Huo Da emerges from the Breach and heads towards Shanghai. The Hong Kong Shatterdome responds by sending Shaolin Rogue, piloted by the Ou-Yangs for the first time, and Crimson Typhoon, but the Wei triplets encounter a problem with the Mark-4's cooling system, causing them to be delayed for an hour while the malfunction is repaired.[7]
The Jaeger is carried by V-50 Jumphawks for nearly eight hundred miles across China until it reaches the location that the Kaiju was estimated to reach in 15 minutes, where its pilots begin to drift and are released into the Yellow Sea, about two hundred feet deep, with only the Jaeger's head and top of its shoulders remaining above the waves. Rogue crouched, remaining completely submerged, waiting for the Kaiju, which arrived by breaking through the kelp forest in front of it and attempting to pull the Jaeger using two of its tentacle-like arms to its smaller, scythe-like arms, but Rogue pivoted to dodge one of the arms and landed a punch on the top of the creature's skull. The aquamarine light finally allowed Rogue's pilots to catch a glimpse of the Kaiju, but they were surprised by its scorpion tail and were not quick enough to avoid it. Fortunately, the forty-foot stinger did not pierce the Jaeger's armor completely, getting stuck in Rogue's midsection, who quickly ripped the stinger off with both hands and faced the creature head on.[7]
Huo Da propelled itself towards Rogue, launching its tentacle-like arms so fast that the Jaeger didn't even have time to avoid them, being trapped and squeezed. Soon after that, the Kaiju's entire lower jaw shot out like a frog's tongue, wrapping itself around the Mark-3's left arm like a blood pressure cuff and beginning to pull the Jaeger towards its scythe-like arms. Rogue began punching the beast's face several times, but was unable to make it let go. Upon being notified of a nearby coral reef, Rogue leaned forward and activated its Hydropulsers, launching itself at high speed through the sea while withstanding several blows from the Kaiju who still had a firm grip on it. The Jaeger successfully managed to crash into the reef with such force that the environment collapsed and Huo Da finally let go of it, who took the opportunity to strike the Kaiju with its hands and throw it upwards with an uppercut.[8]
However, the Kaiju quickly attaches itself to Rogue using the suction cups on its belly and begins to propel itself across the ocean floor while attempting to decapitate the Jaeger with its limbs. Fortunately, Rogue manages to free itself and gets back on its feet, but is informed by LOCCENT that it is beginning to suffer considerable damage. The creature begins to make several attacks on the Mark-3's Conn-Pod and pushes it further and further into the shallower waters near the coast of Shanghai.[8]
Seeing no other option, Rogue waits for the Kaiju's next attack and immediately activates its lance, which comes out of its left arm and pierces the enemy's body, contaminating the environment with Kaiju Blue and causing Huo Da to start struggling and propelling itself through the water, dragging the Jaeger with it and ripping off its lance, which came out along with a good chunk of its left arm. Rogue manages to get up, with only thirty percent of its left arm working, and realizes that the Kaiju has gone in the opposite direction of the coast. While following the monster, Rogue comes across it devouring a whale and decides to fire the Shooting Stars, with both torpedoes hitting the creature head on and generating two huge explosions that threw everything away, but which were quickly crossed by Huo Da, who lost only one or two limbs and launched itself enraged towards the Jaeger, grabbing it by the damaged arm and attacking its Conn-Pod repeatedly with its tail until cracks began to appear on the visor.[8][9]
Rogue tries to resist but is overwhelmed by the sheer savagery of the Kaiju, which is quickly thrown away. Upon standing up, the Mark-3 comes across Crimson Typhoon and realizes that it has been dragged to the city's shores by Huo Da. The Kaiju begins to swell and attack Typhoon. Rogue takes advantage of this situation and, since its left arm is useless, it decides to activate its Meteor Chain on its right arm and traps the creature with it. The creature begins to struggle and manages to jump away, knocking Rogue down in the process and starting to flee. Typhoon manages to reach the Category III and begins to strike it several times, while Rogue hits the creature from afar using the weight of his Meteor Chain.[9]
Before Rogue can get to the scene, the Kaiju splits open like a cicada shedding its skin, and before the two Jaegers could react, a new creature resembling a cross between a dragonfly and a grasshopper emerges from its body, kicking Typhoon in the face and taking flight towards Rogue, grabbing the Mark-3 by the right arm and carrying it upwards. The Ou-Yangs ask Typhoon to take down the Kaiju with its plasma cannon and detach Rogue's arm to free themselves and give their ally a chance to get a clear shot.[9]
The Jaeger goes into freefall but is quickly stopped when the Kaiju grabs it again using all of its limbs and flies towards the World Financial Center, dropping the Jaeger on the building and causing the complete destruction of Shaolin Rogue, with its pilots barely surviving.[10]
Features
Like all Mark-3 Jaegers, Shaolin Rogue is powered by a nuclear reactor, which makes it resilient to EMP-based attacks.[11] It is relatively small for a Jaeger, with its shoulders and head being just over two hundred feet and is designed to fight underwater, possessing increased oxygen reserves and the ability to extract oxygen from seawater through electrolysis. To orient itself while submerged, the Jaeger is equipped with liquid ballast and gas cells, as well as extremely advanced sonar. Its high-speed locomotion in the depths is done by Hydropulsers[8], turbines mounted on its back that allow Shaolin Rogue to swim horizontally like a submarine or swim directly to the surface if it is facing upwards.[note 1][7] If its arms are compromised, the Jaeger has explosive bolts that can detach the limbs.[9]
Shaolin Rogue's right arm holds a weapon that can be fired from the center of his fist called the Meteor Chain, which consists of a heavy steel ball connected to a titanium alloy chain that is one hundred and fifty feet long at its maximum length. This weapon can be used both above and below water to bind Kaiju, but its true potential is brought out above water, where it can be used as a whip to hit targets with the steel ball and cause great damage.[9] Its left arm is armed with a sixty-foot lance made of tungsten carbide, which is activated like a switchblade by one hundred thousand psig of compressed gas. Its speed of activation is useful for catching Kaiju without them being able to react, and it can even pierce their entire bodies with the sharpness of its tip.[8]
For long-range attacks, Shaolin Rogue is armed with two torpedoes called "Shooting Stars", magnesium-laced warheads that cause large explosions so bright that they momentarily overload the Jaeger's own sensors.[8]

Notes
- ↑ "Shaolin Rogue, more than most Jaegers, had been built to fight underwater. She had vastly increased oxygen supply, and in fact could extract oxygen from seawater through electrolysis. She also had back-mounted turbines that could drive her horizontally through the water like a submarine or lift her toward the surface if she was upright but totally submerged."
