Vancouver is a coastal seaport city in Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. It was the location of a major Kaiju attack and the historic first defeat of a Kaiju by a Jaeger in 2015.[1]

April 23, 2015, Karloff emerged from the Breach and began to approach the seaport city of Vancouver. Its approach was detected by a tracking network in the Pacific, who alerted the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.[1]
Caitlin Lightcap and Sergio D'Onofrio were sent out in the prototype Jaeger, Brawler Yukon, to test its battle-readiness against the Kaiju. Brawler Yukon was deployed into the city as Karloff cut a path halfway through it.[1]
The proceeding battle against the Kaiju sent the creature into retreat. Brawler Yukon's missile volley weakened the creature considerably. Brawler Yukon pursued Karloff until it was close enough to land a killing blow with its fist.[1]
While much of the city's property was destroyed during the battle, the battle itself demonstrated the failability of the Kaiju and marked the beginning of the what would be the Jaeger Program's ten year victory against their enemy.[1]
