The following is a list of known discrepancies connected to Vulcan Specter within Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim: Uprising’s external canon.

Known Inconsistencies[]

Pacific Rim[]

Pacific Rim: Uprising[]

  • According to Pacific Rim and screenwriter Travis Beacham, Vulcan Specter and Echo Saber were not destroyed by Mutavore. However, Pacific Rim: Aftermath writer, Cavan Scott states that he was told by Legendary Pictures's production that Vulcan Specter's destruction at the hands of Mutavore was part of the "official timeline".[5][note 2]
  • Pacific Rim: Aftermath states Vulcan Specter fought Mutavore on December 27, 2024.[6] The same error appears in the combat dossier for Striker Eureka and the Shatterdome memo in the novelization. Pacific Rim established that the Mutavore attack occurs in 2025.
  • During his meeting with Raleigh Becket at the Anti-Kaiju Wall in Alaska in Pacific Rim, Stacker Pentecost tells Raleigh every Mark-3 pilot except him are dead.[note 3][7] Pacific Rim: Aftermath contradicts this with the introduction of Joshua Griffin, one of the pilots of Vulcan Specter, a Mark-3 Jaeger.

Notes[]

  1. Travis Beacham: "Mutavore didn’t destroy two Jaegers before engaging Striker Eureka."
  2. Cavan Scott: "Hi there, I’m not sure I’m in a position to say what is canon or not. I just based the comic on the materials provided to me by Legendary and checked by the production team. The Mutavore / Vulcan battle was definitely in the official timeline."
  3. Raleigh Becket: "I'm guessing I wasn't your first choice."
Stacker Pentecost: "You were my first choice. All the other Mark-3 pilots are dead".
