Cheung, Hu and Jin Wei Tang (or Wei Tang Clan[3]) were PPDC Rangers and the pilots of Crimson Typhoon.
History
Early Life
The Wei Tang clan are former street fighters who have fought the Kaiju several times and became local heroes in China. Their personal dragon symbol is found all over Hong Kong.[2] In 2015 they joined the Jaeger Academy to become Jaeger pilots.
Pan Pacific Defense Corps.
The Wei Tang brothers with their extensive knowledge of Jaeger systems, weapons and deployment strategies assisted the Pan Pacific Defense Corps[4]. The brothers are famous for their use of the "Thundercloud Formation" in battling against the Kaiju.
Pacific Rim
During the Battle of Hong Kong, the triplets were airlifted from the Shatterdome to defend Victoria Harbour from two category IV Kaiju, Otachi and Leatherback. Herc and Chuck Hansen were ordered by Marshall Stacker Pentecost not to engage because he didn't want to risk Striker Eureka's destruction. Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha moved into position to engage Otachi. The triplets were the first to spot the kaiju, and they immediately activated Crimson Typhoon's triple saw blades which produced the "Thundercloud Formation". The triplets seemed to gain the advantage by wounding Otachi until the kaiju grabs and destroys two of Crimson's saw blade arms.

Notes
- Crimson Typhoon was originally intended to be piloted by quadruplets. However, Guillermo Del Toro realized this was asking too much. He was amazed when identical triplets were found. This resulted in not needing extra camera effects.[2]
- According to the Luu brothers, Crimson Typhoon's pilots were originally American females.[3]
- The Triplets screen time lasted approximately 50 seconds.
